Clinical Trials for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
Clinical Trials for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
Clinical trials are essential for advancing the treatment of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). They help researchers evaluate the safety and efficacy of new therapies and compare them to existing treatments. Below is an overview of clinical trials, their benefits, and considerations for CLL patients.

- Phase I:Tests safety and dosage.
- Phase II:Focuses on effectiveness and side effects.
- Phase III:Compares new treatments with standard therapies.
- Phase IV:Monitors long-term effects after FDA approval.
- Early access to cutting-edge therapies not yet widely available.
- Reduced or no cost for expensive medications.
- Comprehensive medical monitoring and care during the trial.
- Their healthcare providers.
- Online platforms like this, which lists ongoing studies globally.
- Unknown side effects or complications.
- Uncertainty about the treatment's effectiveness compared to standard care.
- Randomized assignment to treatment groups, meaning participants may not receive the experimental drug immediately.
- Targeted Therapies:Drugs like Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors (e.g., ibrutinib) and BCL2 inhibitors (e.g., venetoclax) show promise in improving outcomes.
- Immunotherapy:CAR T-cell therapy and monoclonal antibodies targeting CLL-specific proteins are under investigation
- Early Treatment Strategies:Trials are assessing whether initiating treatment earlier in asymptomatic patients improves survival and quality of life compared to waiting until symptoms appear.
- Consult their healthcare team to determine eligibility.
- Explore online databases for trial details.
- Discuss potential benefits and risks as part of shared decision-making with their medical team.
Search Text Box
This box allows you to enter any text that you want to search for in the database. Please note that when you enter multiple words, all of these words have to be in the clinical trial in order to show as a search result.Where the search looks for your words in a trial
The search looks in the Trial ID, in the Title and in Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria of the trial. By default, all of these fields are included in the search. If you want to be more specific with your search you can click Advanced Search and only select the fields you want to search in. Example: If you have a TP53 mutation and you only want the trials that have TP53 as inclusion criteria then enter TP53 in the text box and select only Inclusion Criteria in Advanced Search.Narrowing your search further
- Checking the box Recruiting Trials Only will show you only these trials that are open for recruitment and ignore all others.
- in the Country List you can select either one or multiple countries where the trial is being offered. If you don’t select a country, then all countries will be considered. If you want to know in what locations (states, cities) within a country the trial is being offered then please click the Go to Full Trial button. You will then be transferred to the source website of the trial where you can find the locations.
- The Phases List works in a similar way. Select the phase(s) you are interested in. If you select none, then all will be considered.
Results
On top of the results list it shows how many results the search gave you. Then each trial is displayed in its own box with the information available. Inclusion and exclusion criteria can be lenghty and therefore only a couple of lines are shown. You can expand them by clicking show more. After examining them you can collapse them again and you are back at the top of the trial. Please note that there is a lot more information for each trial that is not shown in the list of results. You can access the full trial by clicking the button Go to Full Trial. You will be taken to the website of the source trial database which may look a lot different than ours. There you find all available information for each trial including for example all the sites and contact information for registration or application. Finally, there are two big buttons next to the text box. Search starts searching the database and Clear resets all fields and check boxes. We trust you have all the information now to explore our comprehensive database. We welcome any feedback or suggestions through our contact form. This clinical trial hub obtains and consolidates information from more than 30 different clinical trial databases. It provides details on publicly and privately supported clinical studies conducted around the world. We strongly recommend that you talk to your doctor about the trials that interest you and any medical questions you may have.
